Augustus was present at the Carpathian feast which was held by the Draculas. He was described by the Count as being a 'bore', however it seems that he new his Vampire Law.
Augustus was nervous about burning a half fang because the Vampire High Council directive of 1832 said that every Carpathian Feast must by sanctioned by the Vampire High Council. Since the Count asked Augustus if he could sanction the feast, it is likely that Augustus was a member of the High Council.
